We are honored to host Eric Random, performing at GADA,a space for cultural, social and artistic practices located inside the walls of SanFrancesco dei Macci, a 14th-century now deconsecrated church in central Florence (Via deiMacci, Sant'Ambrogio), also known as ‘San Francesco al Tempio de’ Macci’ likely built overan older, possibly Templar, structure.
Eric will take a break from touring with Cabaret Voltaire to present his new album, Bone ofContention, to be released at the end of November on All Horned Animals. The event willopen with a performance by EROB a Florentine experimental artist.
Eric Random is a cult figure of the British electronic scene and one of the true pioneers
of post-punk electronica. He is an experimental multi-instrumentalist whose work traces a
post-punk arc from art-bruit to esoteric jazz and funk, later exploring non-Western idioms
with The Bedlamites. He formed enduring collaborations with Buzzcock Pete Shelley, Nico of
The Velvet Underground touring and performing with her from 1982 until her passing and
Sheffield avant-garde pioneers Cabaret Voltaire, with whom much of his early work shares
affinities. He also opened solo for Throbbing Gristle and contributed to landmark projects
including The Tiller Boys (who debuted supporting Joy Division) as well as The Faction and
Free Agents. After a long period away from the spotlight, Eric returned in the 2010s with a renewedapproach, rediscovering and reshaping his musical language. His recent work leans towardpurer electronic sounds, less influenced by world music, while maintaining a sense of continuity with his past and a clear spirit of innovation.
EROB works across drone, noise, and field recording, and he is passionate about no-input
and feedback techniques. In 2023, he founded DROVE, a tape label and project dedicated to
deep listening.

長嶌寛幸 Hiroyuki Nagashima is a Japanese composer and sound designer, he began composing music at the age of 10 using a tape recorder and synthesizer, and learned composition on his own. His career as a film composer began with Shiatsu Oja (directed by Ishii Sogo) in 1989. He has been a professor there since 2014.He has released musical works with the collective Dowser and has composed the soundtracks of various movie, one of them include √964 Pinocchio directed by Shozin Fukui.
福岡林嗣 Rinji Fukuoka is a Tokyo-based musician and a key figure in Japan’s underground psychedelic and experimental scene since the 90's. Founder of the bands Overhang Party and Majutsu no Niwa.
Known for his violin, electric violin, cello, guitar, percussion, and voice, Fukuoka’s music flows between psychedelic rock, drone, noise, and free improvisation. Whether solo or in collaboration, Rinji Fukuoka’s performances immerse listeners in shifting textures of intensity and beauty.
Beyond his recordings and performances, Rinji Fukuoka is also the head of Pataphysique Records and the events he creates for his label are always unique and surprising, reflecting his restless creativity and deep commitment to the experimental underground scene.
After 30 years, Rinji Fukuoka and Hiroyuki Nagashima will reunite for a unique duo performance.
アルケウス Archeus is a free-improvisation trio featuring Keiko Higuchi (vocals), Shizuo Uchida (4 strings) and TOMO (hurdy-gurdy). Together, as an unconventional ensemble, they ignite a rare sonic alchemy : delicate whispers emerging from silence, the evocative vocalization of a forgotten and nameless language, interplay of discordant masses of sound, the magic of minimal repetition, and dark/dense drones. Each performance is a spontaneous fusion of distinct textures and expressions.
